Milestone shows a bust of a man, his face looking upward in shock, as a bird crashes into the side of his face. This instant of sudden pain inflicted by chance is frozen in time, highlighting a moment that happened quickly and solidifying it in concrete. The surface is rough, adding a feeling of unpleasantness and abruptness of the moment.
